My Hockey PageHockey Links.....

I've been working on this web page since August 1st, 1999.  And I hope to be able to keep it running as long as possible.  With time I will be adding more stuff.  Hopefully more about the  hockey players like interviews and info.  I'm also going to make a spot about the history of the Maple Leafs.  So just to tell you this site is always under construction and I will always be improving it. Also, just want to say that I got some of these pictures and some of the info off other web pages, sports sites and the Leafs official page.  If you have any questions, complaints or comments please email me or leave a message in my guestbook.  Thank you very much. Why Hockey?  I don't know, it all started back when I was in the fourth grade.  My older brother would bug me to rent the Mighty Ducks movie, telling me that I would like it.  Although I liked
hockey a bit and I was a Toronto Maple Leaf fan, (even tlough at that point in my life I might have watched an entire total of 2 games or less) I snobbishly said "no".  (Our parents wouldn't usually let us rent a movie unless we agreed on it, I think I kept saying "no" to piss off my brother!)  Finally, about a year later, I rented it with my best friend Anne and "Oh Boy" it was suddenly our favorite movie (at least it was mine).  For the longest time after that when I found out someone in knew played hockey (for example: guys in my class at school) I thought they were so cool!

Finally I grew out of the stage but I continued to like the sport.  I had begun to watch Leaf games on T.V. occasionally and when I was 13 I got my 1st part-time job timekeeping for the local minor hockey league.

Then, on October 2nd 1998, my friend Sylvie got our 2 friends, Joe & Sarah, and me to go see the local Tier 2 Junior A Team, the Rayside Balfour Sabrecats.  We had the time of our life and from then on I went to every home game.  Although I've seen some great games, incredible goals and more than exciting fights throughout the course of the season, my favorite and most memorable game was when I traveled down to Parry Sound, Ontario, with my mom, my aunt, my little cousin Tiffanie and my friend Sarah to cheer on the Sabrecats as they won vs the, very talented, Parry Sound Shamrocks 6-2 to bring in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey Association's Championship for the 4th year in a row!
It was one of the best days of my life, thanks to Sylvie for dragging me to that 1st Sabrecats game.
Now I am totally in love with Hockey!
